DataToLab

How it works

A discovery layer for commercial AI data

DataToLab brings commercial dataset listings into one searchable catalogue, describes them consistently, and routes enquiries to the providers who can license them.

For buyers

  1. 01

    Discover

Search across providers with filters for modality, language, industry, use case, size and pricing model.

  2. 02

    Review

Each listing separates what the source states, what we normalised, and what has been verified.

  3. 03

    Request

Ask for a quote, a sample or licensing details — or brief us on data that is not listed.

  4. 04

    Connect

We review the enquiry and pass it to the provider. Licensing is agreed directly with them.

What a listing tells you — and what it does not

Every field on a dataset page belongs to one of three layers. Missing information stays missing; we never fill gaps with estimates.

Layer 1

Stated by the source

Title, provider, description, volume, languages, price and sample availability, exactly as published in the provider’s catalogue.

Layer 2

Normalised by DataToLab

Categories, use cases, industries, file formats and geographic coverage, inferred from the listing wording and marked as inferred.

Layer 3

Verified by DataToLab

Commercial licence scope, rights status and resale authorisation. Shown only after confirmation with the provider; unverified by default.

Where listings come from

Listings are imported from public commercial catalogues and refreshed regularly. When a listing disappears from its source, it is marked as no longer listed rather than silently removed. Open-source repository listings are excluded.

About DataToLab

Training data is now one of the main constraints on AI progress, yet commercial datasets are scattered across dozens of catalogues, each describing data differently. DataToLab is an independent discovery platform that makes that supply searchable and comparable.

We are not the owner or licensor of third-party datasets. We describe what is available, help buyers ask the right questions, and connect them with providers. Where we have verified commercial rights, the listing says so explicitly.

Data owners can also list their own datasets for confidential review.
