What this is: Around 5,000 files from a working architectural practice in Pakistan. Mostly AutoCAD DWG, with PDF sheets covering part of the archive. Houses, commercial buildings and apartment developments that were built, or are on site now. These are the files the office worked from. The DWG files: Every wall, symbol and label is a separate object on a named layer. Layers are named for what they hold — CONDUIT, CABLE TRAY, E-LIGHTING FIXTURE, BUSBAR, DOOR, COLUMN, GRID — so the drawings arrive classified by discipline, the way the engineer drafted them. Text comes out with the geometry: room names, equipment ratings, carpet areas, and a title block on every sheet carrying project, drawing number, scale and date. What's in a set: Architectural plans, sections and elevations. Structural — foundations, columns, beams, slabs, reinforcement. MEP — power, lighting, conduit, cable tray, fire alarm, plumbing. Construction-issue drawings, dimensioned and scheduled. Where the practice handled the full job you get all three disciplines for the same building, drawn to coordinate with each other. The PDFs: Sheets as issued and as filed, including drawings stamped and approved by the local authority for construction. Identifying information like names, companies, and addresses is removed from the PDFs, otherwise they remain untouched. The sample has also been de-identified.
